LinkStar selected for the Air Force "Base Of The Future"!

A Complete Radio System For Satellite Communications, Tracking and Management for CubeSats.     Holland, Michigan, July 27, 2020 —

sci_Zone and the LinkStar Radio System  was selected to create robust and

resilient Air Force bases that can withstand natural disasters and supply shortages with minimal loss of power, structure and operations.

Details...

LinkStar-STX3 and -STX3-PC104 are satellite radio systems with integrated embedded computer, GPS, with battery/solar panel backup capability to monitor the health and situation of any system on the ground, in the air and in space. Messages can be transmitted through our satellite network to a secure cloud in seconds alerting of downed systems, potential failures, and attacks and can be used to report the nature of the condition.  Information can be viewed via a web interface, mobile device and tablet.

The user can configure what to monitor, where the data is collected from (I2C, RS232, RS422, Ethernet, etc.), and what to transmit.  The unit can be configured to broadcast health checks, faults, alerts and events.  With our artificial intelligence add on module, you can configure the LinkStar-STX3 to monitor conditions and situational awareness in addition to providing Tactical Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) functions. The LinkStar-STX3 can fit in one’s hand.

The LinkStar-STX3 radio system can operate as an isolated system, communicating through the Globalstar satellite constellation instantly where the message is relayed to the secure cloud environment in less than 200ms. As a secondary option the operator can also allow messaging and control via secure cellular, ethernet and/or wifi link.  The system is flexible to use on a range of other satellite networks, plus integrate with our high speed satellite radio add-on module providing secure full duplex communications.  Even when networks are down, power is lost, cell towers out or beyond line of site, or communications systems compromised messages can still be transmitted through our secure satellite link to the secure cloud based servers.

What is the value of the Linkstar-STX3 to the Air Force?

The LinkStar-STX3 is a resilient communications and health monitoring and asset tracking system.  Messages are transmitted securely through our satellite network to our or the customer’s secure servers.   LinkStar-STX3 modules, which can fit in the palm of the hand, can be attached to a range of assets, such as power transformers, sensors on border walls and perimeter fences, solar panels, wind turbines, fuel tanks and storage containers.  The LinkStar-STX3 can be used to monitor incursions on the perimeter, downed power lines, fuel tank status and the health of a range of assets.  With the add-on machine learning tools, the LinkStar-STX3 can be trained to detect and discern sounds such as gun fire, explosions or aircraft sounds and report what was detected back to the control center.  An added level of situational awareness can be added to a base both at home and in the field If a natural disaster strikes an Air Force Base, such as Tyndall Air Force Base,  or a base in the field is under attack, messages will still get through our satellite network. The Air Force will have total situational awareness of assets allowing the Air Force to build a complete picture.  The data from the distributed LinkStar-STX systems can be integrated into a larger artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) environment to monitor the state of the base’s infrastructure.  Failures and incursions can potentially be detected before they occur.

An additional value to the Air Force is the LinkStar-STX3 is a proven system – it has been tested on a range of government and commercial assets on the ground, on the water, in the air and in space.

As a matter of fact a LinkStar-STX3 is going in space next month on an Air Force mission! Finally,  The LinkStar-STX3 has been certified by the FCC Part 15A and Modular Part 25 and by Globalstar through their extensive test program and is ready for immediate use today!
